Pro Bono

Kasowitz is committed to providing pro bono legal services to those in need in our communities.  We encourage our lawyers at all levels to take on pro bono representations in any area in which they are interested.  We require first-year associates to complete at least one pro bono assignment as part of their first-year training, with the goal that each first-year associate complete at least twenty-five hours of pro bono work during the first year of practice.  Recent areas of interest for our lawyers have included asylum, eviction and foreclosure, bail remission, unlawful detention, and special education.
