Legal Recruiting Coordinator

Kasowitz Benson Torres LLP is currently recruiting for a Legal Recruiting Coordinator.  The Legal Recruiting Coordinator is involved in all aspects of firm-wide attorney recruiting, including partner, counsel, associate, clerk, staff attorney and entry level hiring.  This position will also coordinate our on-campus recruiting efforts.  We encourage candidates with approximately 2-3 years of recruiting experience to apply.

The Legal Recruiting Coordinator will report to the Chief Legal Recruiting Officer and Senior Legal Recruiting Manager on the following job functions:

Lateral:

  • Work closely with the Chief Legal Recruiting Officer and Senior Manager on all aspects of firm-wide lateral recruitment
  • Strategic, proactive and innovative execution of firm-wide lateral recruiting (including partners, counsels, associates, clerks and staff attorneys)
  • Identify candidates (create summaries for attorney review), schedule interviews, greet/exit candidates, coordinate with recruiters
  • Maintain job specs, hiring needs and processes for all offices and all departments
  • Collect feedback and prepare candidate files for review on an ongoing basis
  • Maintain and update candidate information in Applicant Tracking System (LawCruit), including sending correspondence to applicants
  • Offer/no offer process
  • Work closely with all offices to identify needs and determine recruiting strategies; maintain knowledge of specific markets and all searches
  • Focus on diversity, women’s and wellness initiatives within lateral and on-campus recruitment
  • Implement ongoing strategic analysis and hiring protocols driven by firm needs and industry standards; statistical analysis on various recruiting metrics
  • Liaise with recruiters on an ongoing basis; maintain face-to-face relationships with preferred recruiters
  • Research industry standards regarding alternative/innovative recruiting methods; prepare and propose recruiting initiatives
  • Collaborate with Marketing Department re: all lateral and on-campus recruitment marketing materials for best internal/external communication/dissemination

On-Campus:

  • Coordinate and execute various aspects of on-campus recruiting efforts
  • Attend local recruiting events as necessary
  • 1L recruiting efforts

Other:

  • Complete various surveys/submissions including Chambers, NALP and Vault
  • Assist department with additional duties as needed

Skills & Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of law firm recruiting experience
  • Previous experience coordinating recruiting efforts or scheduling across multiple offices and practice areas
  • Proficiency in MS Office, knowledge of LawCruit and ability to learn new software and operating systems
  • Ability to organize, multitask, manage, maintain and prioritize departmental processes/projects, deadlines and projects effectively in a high-pressure and fast-paced environment, both independently and on a team
  • Must be energetic and enthusiastic with an ability to possess and maintain morale within the department
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and judgment regarding sensitive matters
  • Must be highly motivated, exhibit creativity in approach to work, flexible and detail/results-oriented
