Katheryn Wenger represents companies, government institutions, partnerships, and individuals in federal and state court, and in private arbitrations and internal investigations. Her practice includes matters related to complex commercial litigation, entertainment and media, intellectual property, federal and state criminal investigations, and data strategy, privacy and security.
Katheryn has litigated matters for prominent clients concerning complex contractual and business disputes, defamation and other First Amendment issues, employment claims, RICO and fraud, federal and state human trafficking and sex trafficking, False Claims Act, copyright and trademark infringement and licensing disputes, and technology matters involving failed or troubled implementations of Enterprise Resource Planning (“ERP”) software systems such as SAP (including S/4HANA). She also advises clients on federal and state technology, privacy, and cybersecurity laws, including on the development of compliance programs covering artificial intelligence, social media, and consumer health.
Prior to joining the firm, Katheryn clerked for the Honorable Morrison C. England, Jr., U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California and for the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeal by designation. During law school, Katheryn held three law clerk positions at the United States Department of Justice where she assisted in criminal investigations and prosecutions, including trafficking, antitrust, mass fraud, violent and organized crime, and cybersecurity/hacking cases, as well as various civil matters.
