Daniel Apgar focuses his practice on intellectual property and technology disputes, specializing in complex patent litigation before federal courts and the International Trade Commission. Dan has significant experience in all aspects of litigation, from pre-suit investigation through trial.
Dan represents clients primarily in the electronics and software industries—ranging from large, multinational corporations to individual inventors. He has litigated patents in a diverse array of cases related to a host of technologies, including mobile devices, smart TVs, graphical user interfaces (GUIs), smart thermostats, digital cameras, image processing, fishing equipment, medical devices, and pharmaceuticals.
Dan has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America on its Ones to Watch list.
Prior to joining the firm, Dan was a member of the intellectual property litigation group at Schulte Roth & Zabel. Before that, he spent over a decade litigating patent cases at Venable (formerly Fitzpatrick, Cell, Harper & Scinto).
