Kasowitz Benson Torres Shortlisted for The National Law Journal’s 2025 Elite Trial Lawyers Awards

Kasowitz Benson Torres has been selected as a finalist for The National Law Journal’s 2025 Elite Trial Lawyers Awards in the Civil Rights/Discrimination (Non-Employment) category. The annual awards recognize leading firms and attorneys who delivered groundbreaking legal strategies, achieved significant results, and showcased an unwavering commitment to advancing justice for their clients.
Kasowitz is currently representing numerous Jewish and Israeli students at Columbia University, Barnard College, and the University of Pennsylvania, concerning allegations that the universities enable hostile antisemitic educational environments, which include pervasive acts of discrimination, harassment, and intimidation, in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. The Kasowitz team also represented Jewish and Israeli students in actions against New York University and Harvard University, which were successfully settled for, among other things, the establishment of first-of-their-kind independent Title VI offices. Before the settlement was reached with Harvard, Kasowitz succeeded in defeating Harvard’s motion to dismiss. The court’s seminal opinion set a new standard and means for combating antisemitism through the Civil Rights Act.
The 2025 Elite Trial Lawyers winners will be announced at the awards event in New York City on July 10, 2025.
