Kasowitz Represents Cottonwood Group in Acquisition of $110 Million Loan Secured by NoMad Condo Project

Kasowitz represented Cottonwood Group, a Los Angeles-based private equity real estate investment firm, in the acquisition of the mortgage and senior mezzanine loans with an aggregate principal amount of $110 million from Madison Realty Capital secured by Five Points Development’s residential building at 262 Fifth Avenue in NoMad, Manhattan. The project once completed will comprise 26 luxury units in one of Manhattan’s skinniest supertall skyscrapers. Cottonwood also holds a $70 million junior mezzanine loan.
The Kasowitz team representing Cottonwood Group was led by real estate transactions partner Darwin Huang and includes associates Kathleen M. Maurer and Jason Re, and staff attorney Ranya Khalil.
