Jonathan K. Waldrop Interviewed in The Recorder Article: “‘Take That On’: Black Patent Attorneys Say It’s Time They Are Recognized”

Kasowitz Benson Torres partner Jonathan K. Waldrop is profiled in The Recorder article, “‘Take That On’: Black Patent Attorneys Say It’s Time They Are Recognized.”  In the article, Mr. Waldrop discusses his success as a Black patent litigator in an industry whose openness to minority attorneys has been uneven.  Mr. Waldrop credits his success, in part, to the team atmosphere at Kasowitz and his personal connection to the firm’s managing partner, Marc E. Kasowitz:  “He knows my wife.  He knows my kids.  He’s supported me.  He made me the leader of the Silicon Valley office.”

Jonathan K. Waldrop, partner and head of the firm’s Intellectual Property group, represents industry-leading companies in patent and trademark litigation involving interactive web technologies, video-on-demand telecommunications, cable technology, computer-assisted sales processes, medical devices, gaming systems and complex financial transactions.  Mr. Waldrop has been named an Intellectual Property Trailblazer by The National Law Journal and a Top Intellectual Property Lawyer in California by The Daily Journal, and is recognized as a leading practitioner in Legal 500.  He is also regularly recognized in IAM Patent 1000, IP Stars, The Best Lawyers in America, and Super Lawyers.
