Although KBT&F is widely recognized as one of the premier law firms in the country for the defense of civil litigation, the firm also has successfully pursued significant plaintiffs' cases on behalf of both corporate and individual clients. 

KBT&F has represented corporate clients and executives in cases ranging from defamation and discrimination claims to partnership and joint venture fights, insurance coverage, anti-trust suits and other commercial disputes.  Employing the same intensity, preparation and skills that it brings to more traditional defense cases, KBT&F has brought numerous plaintiffs' cases to trial.  It is this ability and willingness to pursue cases to trial that leads to our clients' greatest successes.

KBT&F has represented individual clients in mass tort actions involving personal injury and/or property damage.  For example, beginning in 1996, the firm prosecuted actions on behalf of approximately 3400 property owners and other individuals who were exposed to PCBs from a Monsanto PCB manufacturing plant in Anniston, Alabama.   In 2003, after achieving significant jury verdicts for approximately 900 property owners, KBT&F, on behalf of all of its Anniston clients, reached one of the largest toxic tort settlements in history. 

The firm has adopted in appropriate plaintiffs' cases contingency, mixed-fee, success-related bonus, and hourly-rate billing arrangements.
