Litigation:  Mass Tort and Product Liability

KBT&F has one of the premier practices in the country in the area of mass tort and product liability litigation.  The firm's attorneys have been involved in most of the significant complex tort litigations over the past twelve years and have substantial experience in defending mass tort and product liability cases at every level - crafting and implementing strategy in multi-jurisdictional litigation, gaining victories on dispositive motions, working with experts and conducting Daubert and Frye hearings, winning significant trials in hostile jurisdictions, and handling landmark appeals.

The mass tort and product liability litigations handled by KBT&F include, among others:  tobacco (as national counsel to cigarette manufacturer Liggett Group Inc.); asbestos (as national counsel to several manufacturing defendants); industrial solvents (as national counsel to a chemical manufacturer in numerous cases alleging exposure to chemicals used in the semiconductor industry); polybutylene plumbing (as national counsel to one of the primary defendants in cases concerning allegedly defective plumbing systems installed in six million homes nationwide); and World Trade Center bombing (as trial counsel to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey with respect to claims arising from the 1993 World Trade Center terrorist bombing).
