Nancy Pokler is a staff attorney in the New York office.  Nancy’s practice focuses on complex commercial litigation.  She represents financial institutions, corporations, government entities and individuals in a variety of securities and business disputes.

Notable Representations

  • Federal Housing Finance Agency (“FHFA”), as conservator for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, in several actions in federal court against numerous financial institutions arising out of defendants’ misrepresentations concerning residential mortgage-backed securities sold to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
  • MBIA, the world’s largest bond insurer, in multiple federal and state court actions brought by 19 of the world’s largest financial institutions, bondholders and a putative nationwide class represented by several hedge funds – all challenging MBIA’s $5 billion restructuring of its structured finance and municipal bond insurance.
  • Adelphia Recovery Trust in a multi-billion dollar lawsuit against several hundred financial institutions, including the largest banks in the United States, for, among other things, intentional and constructive fraudulent conveyances, fraud, aiding and abetting fraud and breach of fiduciary duty.
