Kevin M. Pasquinelli is an associate in Kasowitz’s Silicon Valley office.  Mr. Pasquinelli possesses two decades of experience in a variety of technology sectors including digital hardware, medical devices, system software, software development, telecommunications, enterprise software and network management software.  Mr. Pasquinelli’s legal experience has involved multiple patent, trade secret, copyright and trademark cases.  Mr. Pasquinelli has represented many industry leaders such as Dell Computer, Cisco, Fry's, Best Buy, QNAP, Antec and Expensify.

Before becoming an attorney, Mr. Pasquinelli served in a variety of technology and management roles at Hewlett Packard (HP) focusing on technical marketing, licensing and sales.  His last role for HP was as the marketing manager for a division of Open View software.  After HP, Mr. Pasquinelli was the senior director of product marketing and management for Silicon Valley startups Chordiant Software (now Pegasus) and Blue Pumpkin Software (now part of Verint).  While at Chordiant, Mr. Pasquinelli was part of the management team that took the company public.

Mr. Pasquinelli earned his J.D. from Santa Clara University Law School in 2006, where he received the Witkin Award for Academic Excellence, the Legal Research & Writing Award, and the CALI Excellence for the Future Award.  He earned his M.S. in computer engineering from the University of California – Santa Barbara in 1986 and his B.S. in electrical engineering from Santa Clara University in 1984.

  • Data Network Storage, LLC v. Cisco Systems, Inc. et al.  Represent Cisco and QNAP in patent licensing and litigation regarding Networked Attached Storage products before the Central District of California Federal Court and ITC.
  • Microsoft v. Primax  Successfully negotiated and licensed multiple patents for Primax while representing in Federal Court and the ITC against Microsoft. (Mouse patents)
  • Verigy v. Silicon Design Systems  Litigated and successfully reduced scope of trade secret misappropriation by client against Verigy, Inc. (Semiconductor Test Equipment)
