In October 2011, the firm obtained a jury verdict in favor of Liggett Group LLC in a smoking and health trial in Fort Myers, Florida. The plaintiff, a smoker for almost 40 years who suffered from laryngeal cancer, alleged product liability, fraudulent concealment and conspiracy claims. After a three-week trial, the jury returned a unanimous verdict in favor of Liggett and two other cigarette manufacturers.
