Diversity & Women's Initiatives

Diversity

Kasowitz is committed to promoting a diverse and inclusive work environment.  The firm’s culture and policies value the individual abilities and perspectives of every employee.  We believe a diverse makeup is an asset when providing our clients with the highest level of service, as well as attracting talented litigators to join the firm.  Our success is derived from the unique skills, talents, experiences and perspectives of our lawyers and staff – people of all backgrounds, regardless of sex, race, color, religion, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, disability or national origin.

Kasowitz devotes time and resources to maintaining a diverse workplace.  The firm recruits at Howard Law School, the Northeast Black Law Student Association (NEBLSA) Job Fair, utilizes the NYU Diversity Directory, and participates in the PALS Mock Interview Program and the LeGal Job Fair.  The firm continues to enhance our diversity initiatives in an effort to increase the number of minorities represented and retained in our workforce.

Kasowitz is committed to the development of our minority attorneys and offers opportunities to obtain skills and knowledge useful for both personal and professional advancement.  In addition to firm announced training programs and networking events, each year Kasowitz provides every diverse attorney the opportunity to attend a minority program of their choice.

Women’s Initiatives

Kasowitz is devoted to providing our female attorneys with training, discussions, programs and additional opportunities to assist in their development, recruitment, retention and promotion, both at the firm and in the legal industry.  For example, the firm sponsors attendance at the Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg Distinguished Lecture on Women and the Law, sponsored by the New York City Bar.

The firm has a distinguished history of promoting female attorneys.  Over the past four years, approximately half of the attorneys promoted to partner have been women. Kasowitz fosters a supportive and inclusive work environment and is dedicated to women’s initiatives and gender equality in the legal profession.  We take pride in the fact that half of our attorneys are female and believe that our success in hiring and promoting women lawyers is also indicative of our overall approach to achieving a diverse workplace.
